This month long Mentorship will better fit those artists seeking to improve their overall skill set across the whole process of character design and creation for AAA games. The goal of this mentorship is to make the artists have a better understanding of how characters are made in a AAA studio, and make them more prepared for the industry requirements.

We will either go over each step of the process of making a character, from early design blockout to final presentation, or focus on few specific subjects. This mentorship can include process like refined blockouts and silhouette, polished high-poly modeling, both hard-surface and organic, garment creation with Marvelous Designer, clean and optimized game models and texturing process in Substance Painter ending on Marmoset render with materials and lighting set-ups. We will also discuss many tips and tricks, design and artistic choices and presentation.

At the end of the mentorship, the artist will have been exposed to a great amount of techniques, commonly used in the industry, that will help him create appealing portfolio pieces and stand out in the crowd.

Henrique Naspolini | Lead Character Artist

Henrique is Lead Character Artist at Insomniac Games. With 10 years of experience in the video-game industry he has shipped multiple AAA titles in a variety of styles including, Sunset Overdrive, Ratchet & Clank and most recently the critically acclaimed, Marvel's Spider-Man.

Henrique has been featured in cg community websites such as Pixologic, ZbrushCentral, 3DTotal, Mamoset ToolBag etc. He has also contributed to the cg community with online tutorials, talks and participated in 2017's Substance Days as MasterClass Guest Speaker.
