Mentorship Info

In this month-long mentorship, the AAA workflows and techniques that are used in creating a real-time vista in Unreal 4. This is a chance to learn what it takes to build a vista from the ground up or polish and refine existing assets. We can start off discussing your goals, your current skill level, and planning your vista!

You’ll be guided through the steps of creating a performant background that can be used for AAA video games. We can go over generating terrain, uv-layout, composition, basic lighting, foliage, skydome creation, and more! 

By the end of this mentorship, you should have a clear understanding of what it takes to build an epic realtime vista.

Mentor Bio

Tony Arechiga | Senior Vista Artist

Tony is a Senior Vista Artist at Probably Monsters with over 12 years of game development experience. He has worked on a number of projects over the years: Epic Mickey, Sims 3 Pets, Warhammer: Dark Millennium Online, Destiny (DLC), Destiny 2, and Disintegration. He started in the game industry as a QA tester, and eventually worked his way into doing Environment Art. Tony now specializes in creating realtime vistas for games, and filling in all the non-playable space surrounding the game environment.
