Mentorship Info
In a month-long Mentorship, the artist will be guided on how to efficiently create, organize, and polish dynamic level/environment art. Through the mentorship, the artist will work through strategies of analyzing concept art, gathering reference images, and organizing the visual components of a scene into a manageable project that can be achieved in a realistic timeframe. The artist will begin creating their art alongside the guidance of the mentor. The mentor will provide a depth of knowledge on blocking-out props & modular kits, UV and texturing techniques, high-res sculpting and modeling, and strategies for set dressing and environmental storytelling. The artist will also learn how to render their work using Marmoset Toolbag and Unreal Engine 4 to showcase their art in a dynamic and beautiful presentation for their portfolio and social media accounts.
The mentor will guide the artist on adaptable workflows and mindsets when organizing environment art that will help the artist be prepared to tackle their career as a game artist. At the conclusion of the mentorship the artist will have studied, discussed, and explored tools and workflows used by current AAA game artists to create competitive and dynamic art assets.
