On Break - Check Back Soon!
In this month long Mentorship, the artist will be mentored on how to develop their technical ability, visual design knowledge, personal style, and problem solving skills to create concepts with an emphasis on storytelling. The artist will also be mentored on how to apply those skills toward a healthy portfolio improvement plan focusing on sustainable growth.
Beginning with a portfolio review, the mentor will give assignments and feedback to help exercise and push the imaginative ability of the artist, as well as develop a “workout plan” with the artist to build fundamental skills and direct those into a personal style. The mentor will also engage the artist in discussions about understanding their personal philosophy of art, personal style, design theory, shape language, storytelling, the nature of work, the reality of Concept Art as a problem solver, the translation of imagination/creativity through experimentation and failure, and what it means to be a human being navigating the game/entertainment industry.
At the end of the mentorship, the artist should have a grasp of what it will take to be more competitive as a concept artist in the areas of portfolio, imagination, visual design, career growth, technical ability, and will know the importance of self care as they navigate through a competitive industry.
