Mentorship Info
In this Mentorship the artist will be mentored on the creation and presentation of high quality, realistic characters for games. In your first session we will sit down and assess your skill level, craft a custom path for your needs and guide you to those goals. Each session we’ll go over the current week's work, short term strategies to address feedback, and long term future facing goals. This includes paintovers, detailed next-steps, and measures for ensuring responsibility for the following week.
There are many aspects that go into creating characters: from identifying good references, how to pick a concept and push it, as well as sculpting, texturing, and rendering techniques. These are just some go into creating compelling realistic characters. In addition we will go over the technical proficiencies found in AAA game development pipelines.

- Sculpting realistic organic forms as well as hard surface techniques in Zbrush. From block-out to final.

- Lighting, Compositing, final presentation for portfolio.

Spyro Chipain | Senior Character Artist
Spyro currently works at People Can Fly as a Senior Character Artist. He has had multiple years of experience as a Character Artist in the game industry working on AAA games, recently shipping God of War Ragnarok. He has worked with and been taught by some of the best character artists in the industry and has a passion for giving back to the community. He has also been involved in community driven platforms like Twitch and educational Discord servers. He has a wealth of knowledge that not only encompasses creating high quality AAA characters, but also has an in-depth insight on a character artist role in the industry.
