Josh's approach to character design and career development always begins with the question "Why?". Josh takes a holistic approach to mentoring. With Josh as your Mentor, you will explore the questions that inspire you to create characters that tell a story, and define your path as a professional artist working in a creative environment. You'll learn about the technical proficiency found in AAA game development pipelines as well as how to apply your skill to make compelling characters.
From those just beginning to explore 3d character creation and would like guidance with the tools of the trade, to seasoned professionals seeking additional polish, Josh would love to help. At a high level, you'll explore intentionality in design, stylistic approaches, and presentation techniques. Mentees will be challenged to explore what they want out of their career as a character artist. You will be discussing and documenting short-term tactical goals, as well as long term aspirational goals. Josh will help you build a plan that includes hands-on asset reviews, candid Mentorship sessions, paintovers, goal setting and accountability checks.

Josh Singh | Art Director
With over 16 years of industry experience, Josh has contributed to multiple AAA projects including DarkSiders, Overwatch (Project Titan), League of Legends, Legends of Runterra, Spellbreak and Marvel properties. He’s also worked in figure production, merch and mobile.
With Josh as your Mentor, you’ll learn about the journey from Jr. Artist to Sr. Artist to Art Director. He’ll teach you how personal development can help you achieve your career goals. If you love characters that tell a story, have appeal, maintain thematic cohesion, and resonate with an audience, these are Josh’s specialties. Josh will guide your characters to the next level by coaching you on how to make clear the intentionality and purpose of your characters.
